Moving Forward
When the world is as uncertainas it is at the momentwe all look to hold on to things that are familiar and that we can rely on. For many that is friends, family, their Company and colleagues.
In addition to the medical and economic considerations I’m acutely aware of the importance of keeping busy, stayingpositive and having belief in the future. Our work at Pioneer provides us all with an opportunity to do that.
The work we have done in the last 18months has got the business fighting fit and whilst it wasn’t intended to address a crisis of this scale it certainly gives us a good chance of coming through this better than most.
Paul has outlined all of the practical steps we have taken to ensure your safety, how we continue to transact the business and how we meet customer needs. What is just as important is the attitude we bring to our jobs. This is a fight for survival. Pioneer means a lot to all of us. It not only provides an income but also friendship and a sense of purpose. These are vital if we are to get through this.
I am confident we can continue tosupply product. I am confident we can support the business with head office functions even if it means working remotely. However, what we must ensure is that our customers continue to buy.
What we shouldn’t underestimate is that they need us more than ever. Their world may also be falling apart and I want them to look to Pioneer as a rock (excuse the pun) throughout this crisis. Somewhere that they can rely on, that stays open, continues to provide a service and is there for them in their own battle to save their business.
Even though physical distancing is strongly advised we can still phone, wave, smile, shout, load their trucks, email them and listen to their concerns.
Good luck everyone, stay safe and keep smiling (even if it is behind a mask).
